At the present time the Bait & Tackle Store will not be open. There are numerous repairs before it will be operational again.

I felt this page was a must, since I get swamped with phones calls which keep me too busy to take care of the rest of my responsibilities. I will attempt to cover all the most frequently asked questions and provide a few pictures of the most recent catches during peak spawn seasons for the Crappie and Catfish on the Photo Galllery page - if available. I say this because there are days that it rains - nobody fishes, there are those days the winds blow so hard that the only people enjoying the lake are the wind surfers, and then there are those days where the winds allow for fishing only in the creeks and I don't get to see those catches. The fishermen who fish in the creeks - launch in the creeks - and I do not get to see the catches in my parking lot.

When the spawn seasons are over there is less fishing and reports to give. It is not that the fish are gone but less fishing goes on in the heat of summer and the fish have relocated to deeper water. In fact, on this portion of
the lake a cell phone is a must after spawn seasons. If you should experience boat problems on the lake, you don't know when the next boat may go by! It's like having your own private lake to fish and play. More information about the lake levels, water releases, weather reports, etc can be obtained by the links provided to sites where I gather my information.

22 Jan 2010 - The fishermen who normally fish this time of year have been frustrated with a frozen lake. Years past have proven fruitfull for crappie in the deeper waters along the Rip-Rap. Now that we are ice free (for how long is anyone's guess this year) the possibility exists I may catch some reports from the rocks.

25 Jan - The Park Phone Number after taking a 45 day vacation is back up and operational - (918) 275-4719.

4 Apr - Happy Easter one and all. Yesterday the wind quit blowing long enough for boaters to venture out to the Rip-Rap. Wished I had remembered my camera. The Crappie are starting to move. They are not on the rocks. Harold showed me some nice crappie which he caught between 16 - 17 ft, two cranks off bottom.

20 Apr - The Crappie fishing is picking up along the Rip-Rap. Old hands like Bruce, Dave, Bill, Mike and others are reporting good catches. Yesterday boats were parking front end 9ft and back end 15ft and catching at all depths. Today boats backed out to front end 14ft and back end 20ft catching at 10ft suspended.
